“All Work and No Play” is Not the Basware Way
Harvard Business Review studies showed that when employees were happy in their workplace, they had an average of 31% higher productivity, 37% higher sales, and creativity three times higher than those who were unhappy.
There’s a lot more to a business than the products offered. And though at Basware we’re proud of the purchase-to-pay solutions we offer, we know the people behind the scenes are the real catalysts to everything we accomplish. We put in a great year of business and an equally great year of team-building.
Take a look at some of the fun and volunteer efforts Basware employees celebrated over the past year.
Best and Brightest Award
In the US, Basware was recognised as a 2018 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation® award winner. This competition identifies and honors organisations with a commitment to excellence in both their human resource practices and employee enrichment efforts.
Diwali Celebrations
Employees in offices worldwide celebrated Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, with food, décor, dress, and more. We had a great time sharing this time together, celebrating the holiday as a team, and enjoying some incredible food.
“Team Building” - Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organisation that helps local families build affordable housing. They have assisted in over 22 million house builds or improvement since their start in 1976. As part of a “giving back initiative,” Basware employees volunteered their time and skills to help build a house in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Thanksgiving and Giving Back
In both the Charlotte, North Carolina and the Chicago, Illinois branches, employees came together to donate canned goods to local food shelters in need during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Urban Ministry, Operation Sandwich
The Charlotte, North Carolina office made 800 sandwiches for local nonprofit organisation, Urban Ministry Charlotte. Urban Ministry provides meals every day of the year for homeless people and families in and around the Charlotte area.
Christmas Caroling for a Cause
As part of a Christmas competition, our team in Finland let the public decide how they would give back during the holiday season. The final verdict was that they would sing Christmas carols at the local senior living home.
