But let&#039;s not lose sight of the fact that there is already a standard date set (well a small number) and &#039;roaming&quot; agreements in place to support the use of purchasing cards - OK they are proprietary and the merchant fee for use of purchasing cards makes them impractical for mass use. 

But is e-invoicing really can reduce the cost of doing business in Europe that significantly, and if it can make trade across borders easier and less bureaucratic and it really can make Europe more competitive, then lets not seek to reinvent the wheel and bring the banks to the table to work out how to deliver a quick solution.
